Rick J Bowen: drummer, vocalist, songwriter, instructor and journalist.

Rick grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan playing in school band, choir and show bands, earning a BA at Western Michigan University in History and Social Science. Moving to the Northwest in 1994, Rick soon landed gigs and recording sessions with many diverse local artists in multiple genres, from heavy rock to retro techno, blues, jazz, contemporary Christian, folk, alt country and singer songwriter.

He is currently a member of the award-winning Stacy Jones Band, and in the host band of the award winning Unbound Blues jam night and the Monday Night Blues Revue (MAD BOJO) at the Madison Pub for over three years.

Rick is serving his fith year as Vice President for the Washington Blues Society; the second largest non-profit affiliate of the Blues Foundation. By day he is a contributing writer at Northwest Music Scene, the Washington Blues Society, and promo writer for KBA award winning publicists Betsie Brown and Blind Raccoon PR.  A seven-time winner of the WBS “Best of the Blues,” award for Blues Writer. Three-time Blues Drummer award winner and proud recipient of the “keeping The Blues Alive award in 2018
